3. Prevent infection. A good and balanced nutrition will enhance the immune system, so that pregnant women are not susceptible to infection. Any infection experienced by pregnant women may infect the fetus in the womb, so that growth is disturbed.

To maintain and increase endurance, pregnant women should increase their intake of foods that contain lots of vitamin A, zinc, iron, copper and vitamin B-complex.
